Location Data
When you type a city, the search text is sent directly to Open-Meteo for geocoding. If you choose Use My Location, your browser supplies precise coordinates; Google Maps may receive them for place naming, with BigDataCloud used as a fallback. The coordinates are also sent through our first-party weather proxy to Google Weather. Vercel and these providers may retain ordinary security and request logs under their own policies.
Weather Data
Current conditions and forecasts are requested from Google Weather through first-party proxy routes. Coordinates are included so the provider can return local conditions. Results may be cached briefly in your browser and are labeled as cached or offline—not current—when reused.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, country, device type, and interaction events like button clicks). No personally identifiable information is collected or stored. GA4 data is subject to Google's privacy policy.
Cookies
We store app preferences in your browser: saved city and coordinates, a short-lived weather cache, optional dog name/breed/size/coat/flat-faced profile, color mode, PWA install or dismissal state, and locale (including the i18n locale cookie). Storage is optional; the checker falls back safely when browser storage is unavailable.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We send only the information needed to operate the checker to service providers: city-search text to Open-Meteo; coordinates to Google Maps or BigDataCloud for place naming; coordinates to Google Weather through our proxy for conditions; and limited usage and device information to Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4. Their processing and retention are governed by their privacy policies.
